Angela L. Shine, LMSW, CEO and Founder of Radical, Incorporated
Angela L. Shine, LMSW, is a highly respected mental health professional specializing in the faith-based community. Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Shine currently lives in Columbus, Mississippi. She is a graduate of Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree, respectively, in social work.
Shine is the CEO of Radical, Inc., a 501©3 organization incorporated in both Tennessee and Mississippi. Radical, Inc.’s mission is to serve as a nationwide network to promote mental health awareness and address social issues by supporting community organizations with resources, strategies and research. “Lifelong Solutions for a Mentally Healthy America” is the organization’s vision as it seeks to collectively work with communities, faith organizations, and other stakeholders on the local, state and national levels.
She also serves as the director of the mental health division of the National Faith-Based Mobilization Network, an ecumenical collaboration of faith-based organizations, community partners and interested citizens committed to creating health equity. Shine, is a nationally Certified Mental Health First Aid, USA Instructor, Certified School Social Worker and a Certified Law Enforcement Training Academy (BLEOST) Instructor for the State of Mississippi. An ambassador of community organizing, creativity, and "making things happen," Shine is a highly sought-after mental health professional and consultant for numerous ecumenical and educational organizations, communities and businesses, police departments, the music & art industry and others entities to facilitate mental health awareness through specialized educational events ,town hall meetings, forums, seminars, and conferences.
Previously, she worked as a school social worker in the nation’s 41st largest school district in Nashville, TN, and for the nation’s largest not-for-profit provider of community-based and behavioral healthcare, Centerstone. Also, employed with the first Faith-Based Licensed Community Mental Health Agency with the State of Tennessee.
The creator and host of ‘Faith N Mind’ a social outreach program of Radical, Inc. is reaching the masses! The television show is a national mental health awareness television show seen on The NOW Network every Saturday at 4:30 p.m. (EST). The show's foundation to increase mental health awareness in America rests upon the holistic approach perspective. Understandingly, both, physical, mental and spiritual aspects are essential elements in living a healthier and well balance lifestyle. Experts, community leaders, persons from various public and private entities, interfaith organizations, and mental health consumers provide pertinent information, resources, strategies and research for “Lifelong Solutions For A Mentally Healthy America.”
In addition to her work as a social worker, nonprofit executive, wife and mother, she always finds time to pursue another one of her passions; music and television production. A noted psalmist, musician, songwriter, and producer, Angela is a member of famed Black Entertainment Television Network Host and Gospel Trailblazer, Dr. Bobby Jones and the Nashville Super Choir (NSC) aggregation that was seen on “Bobby Jones Gospel” weekly on BET for thirty-five years. She also serves on the staff of “Bobby Jones Presents” television shows on the IMPACT Network, and has shared the stage with many noted gospel and secular artists. Mrs. Shine serves in her local community and church, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and several other professional, civic, and social organizations.
